Anyone got any suggestions for getting decent internet connnection that doesn’t cost too much to set up or run.

Used have one from 3 and it was about €30 a month for a quite limited download allowance. Need it in a rural area for about 9 months a year

In West Cork I know a few people from the Mizen area, to all the way over towards Gougane Barra, that have good things to say about Digital Forge. Depends if there's a mast nearby.
Down that direction, I previously used Three 4g sim in a router, which worked well most of the time, and would probably be a much cheaper option. Good enough to stream etc. Depends where you are really. Check the coverage maps for different providers

Ask your neighbours. Far more reliable than coverage maps in my experience.
