Little things that are immensely satisfying

🤔
If are thick and middle class, you are thick and unless you play Rugby, that's it. Your only hope is Dail Eireann.😉
Not only poor people fall into the drugs and crime trap.
Ask them out in Ballymaloe House!
Unless you play rugby which many do and make business contacts and even get employment from other people at the club. Same goes for contacts made at middle-class schools also of course many lads at private schools dont even have to worry overly about education because their father has a business they can either take over or be employed by.

Did you read my previous posts because Ive already addressed the Ballymaloe house point.
Being wealthy helps obviously but being lucky genetically is the biggest advantage of all.
I dont know the specifics of that case but
inherited variations create vulnerabilities, such as difficulty with impulse control or altered brain reward pathways, that interact with environmental stressors. Of course there are more environmental stressor in a deprived persons upbringing so the risk is higher but wealthy people still have risk especially if genetically deposed to addiction.
Between 40%-60% of a person’s risk of opioid addiction is attributed to genetic factors.
Twin and genomic studies show similar heritability rates for alcohol and nicotine dependence.

How does it disprove my theory?
He was bright and thats why he succeeded.
Being middle class is more an advantage when you're thick.

In this country if you're bright and avoid the traps that living in an impoverished upbringing can bring like crime and drugs(once again more likely if you have a genetic disposition or ADHD etc and also more likely if you're thick and not succeeding in school) then there are clear avenues to third level education in this country.

Also decades of psychological research confirm that teachers frequently favor high-achieving or "bright" students. This favoritism is rarely intentional. Instead, it is driven by deeply ingrained cognitive biases and psychological mechanisms that alter how educators interact with their students.
I was bright in school and hated by teachers. I was an A student and bullied by them.
None of my family are educated, I studied for years. I was a First Class student but had no support from lecturers either. You make your own luck.

Was also bullied in school. Thrown out of class by primary school teachers yadda yadda. I also went to college and got a degree.
Yet you ended up as a chef as did I. Im now in a low paid job but very happy otherwise.

I dont believe you make your own luck. You make the best of what you got which is a different thing altogether.

Well yes, that's a good point. I'm not a chef anymore, in-between careers as such but still employed. All the degenerates end up in kitchens 🤣🤣 Joke.

Just in the cinema now for the first time in years on a big comfy recliner with the wife and son about to watch the Odyssey on seats that cost me 12 euros in total.
I may have a big bag next to me full of treats that ill be opening when the lights go out.
Life is good.
