Little things that are immensely satisfying

A little thing.

The first time that I visited Cork was in 1986. While going on a stroll on the main drag, it seemed like every public speaker was playing
Jermaine Stewart's 1986 hit "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off". Constantly. And then again.

Soon I staggered to a pub and after a pint, I asked the barman why. And after hearing my Yank accent (probably) he said “Oh dat? Dat’s the Irish anthem!”

Another thing that made me like the place right at the start.
My first visit to the city was on my first ever flight from Dublin - Cork, visited the English Market & first saw the PROC T-shirt, had to buy it.

We're going a job in our garden at the moment ( the royal we, which means I'm mainly supervising!). We were looking for bricks for it, and I managed to dig out 92 red bricks from the haggard in my home house this afternoon. Left over from renovations at home years ago.

I love that they are getting reused, but also that a bit of my childhood home will be with me forever.

Birthday party earlier. kudos to them for turning this into a makeshift mortar within ten mins. 💪
