My first visit to the city was on my first ever flight from Dublin - Cork, visited the English Market & first saw the PROC T-shirt, had to buy it.A little thing.
The first time that I visited Cork was in 1986. While going on a stroll on the main drag, it seemed like every public speaker was playing
Jermaine Stewart's 1986 hit "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off". Constantly. And then again.
Soon I staggered to a pub and after a pint, I asked the barman why. And after hearing my Yank accent (probably) he said “Oh dat? Dat’s the Irish anthem!”
Another thing that made me like the place right at the start.
