At lunch yesterday the girls were very excited about a new supermarket opening. One of them said it was sad how excited she was about it.

I couldn’t help myself, I said, ‘Women love simple things… mops, hoovers etc.’

Cue instant uproar. Within seconds they were passionately debating which hoover’s best, cordless vs. plug-in, Dyson vs. Shark. I just sat there with another lad who said to me ‘well they’ve proved you wrong!’.

I felt a sense of pride. Might’ve set feminism back a few years, but I was absolutely, undeniably right.
