Warsaw 480km is the debut LP from Irish/Portuguese quintet pôt-pot , who infuse the propulsive grooves of krautrock with a phosphorescent psych-rock radiance, all underscored by harmonium drones, hypnotic male-female vocal harmonies, and deep layers of rough-hewn texture. Evolved primarily from demos by multi-instrumentalist and lead vocalist Mark Waldron-Hyden during a period of grief and personal upheaval, the album came to life through a series of live, full-band studio sessions that document an exceptional array of talents, unified in an embrace of raw catharsis with a sweetly sinister edge.
A defining element of Warsaw 480km is its impressive range of influences and atmospheric topographies. As Waldron-Hyden describes, “ I wrote the first batch of songs while not really living in one place, so I think they have a kind of transient feel to them – developing them with the band helped me process an era in which I was emotionally freewheeling, so they remind me equally of the beautiful experience we shared as a creative unit and the difficult times that inspired them.”
Lead single,“WRSW”, exemplifies this complexity, as its rugged rhythmic backbone carries tremolo guitars, woozy harmonium, and a half-spoken, Lou Reed-indebted vocal line in which the verse and chorus beautifully blur together.

Based in Lisbon, Portugal, but rooted in the Irish avant-garde, pôt-pot functions as a sonic collective dedicated to the art of the deep groove. Their architecture is built on a foundation of motorik rhythms and an uncompromising pulse that serves as the canvas for harmonium drones, luminous vocal harmonies, and a signature phosphorescent psych-rock radiance.
The band’s trajectory has been marked by a refusal to remain static. After their 2023 EP Ode To A was lauded by The Thin Air for its mastery of “experimental drone rock,” pôt-pot continued to refine their aesthetic with the 2024 release GOING INSANE via Porto’s cult label Socorro and Ireland’s Blowtorch Records. These early works established their reputation for leading listeners through a meticulous process of tension, heat, and eventual sonic completion.
The release of their debut full-length, Warsaw 480km (Felte Records, 2025), represents a watershed moment for the quintet. Evolved from the raw, introspective demos of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mark Waldron-Hyden, the album was forged in a period of profound personal upheaval. What began as a private exploration of grief was transformed through full-band live sessions into a work of communal catharsis.
It is an album that documents the transition from deep pain into a luminous reverie, earning the band a Choice Music Prize nomination, Deb Grant’s Album of The Year on BBC Radio 6 Music, plays on The Huey Show on Virgin Radio and praise from international tastemakers like Stereogum and Bandcamp (Album of the Day).
