Lindsay Clancy

Would the type of women supporting Clancy have supported Alan Hawe?

He clearly went through a psychotic episode.
I would see the fact that she sought help for her mental health and he didn't as a big difference between them.

I don't think it is certain that Alan Hawe went through a psychotic episode. What are you basing that opinion on?

I think anyone murdering their kids can't be in their right state of mind to various degrees.

However imo, it's not any kind of excuse. These people are monsters. Mental health issues are a part of that no doubt.

99% of people with mental health issues will never harm their kids.

I'm not saying lock these people up in general population but they should be convicted of murder and put in an institution for the rest of their days. Get them off the streets and keep them off it.

Hopefully this monster gets a retrial and justice is served.

I suppose basing it on the fact that a seemingly ordinary man with a good job and a nice family, would have to have had a mental breakdown to wipe out his entire family.

We don’t need proof of a Psychiatric report to prove that really. If he survived, would he have deserved the same support from those type that are supporting Clancy?

I don't think that is always true. I think sometimes we find evil so hard to comprehend that it is easier for us to say that they person must have been mentally ill.

Again, I would think that the lengths that she went to to try and get help make a big difference in terms of the support she is receiving. Do you not see that as in any way mitigating?

I’m not of the thinking that she should be locked up for life and throw away the key. She should be in a mental Institution and over time try and understand what exactly went wrong for her?

Maybe learn from her to be able to help other women in the future. They would be better off throwing her down a hole than jailing her for life.

100% agree with this.

But the foreperson said the juror then added, "But I'm still not going to say that she's not guilty by reason of insanity."

The foreperson said she had already begun completing the verdict paperwork after believing the jury had reached an agreement.

"There were three forms I had to fill out, and I started filling them out. I wrote my signature on each one," she told the station. "But then he said, 'But I'm still not going to say she's not guilty by reason of insanity.'"

Wasn’t there a fella in Waterford who threw his kid off a bridge and would have thrown the second off the bridge only the wife intervened.Apparently he had hallucinations of starving children and was saving the kids from that…I knew someone who knew this fella and used to visit him in the Central Mental Hospital and said he was the most normal guy you could ever meet..Could you ever trust someone like that or this lady in USA that they wouldn’t snap again..I think not…

There was. Once they properly diagnosed and treated him he was mentally well, which must have been it's own form of torture.

Have a listen to the Lines Of Enquiry podcast about Hawe. Loads of facts presented that weren't in media at time.
