Kim Jong-Un Appreciation Thread

Did do a search for a South Korea thread but didn't find one ....so I went with this one .....apologies
He's not liked, he's suspected to have bumped off some of the opposition and they're trying to block some policies he's trying to bring through. His missus is a bit fond of taking bribes too.

"According to a translation of South Korea's constitution, the president must notify the National Assembly that he has proclaimed martial law. The legislature can then request for martial law to be lifted with a majority vote.
The constitution says the president "shall comply" with such a request, but how Yoon responds to the vote remains to be seen. "

Police and military personnel have been seen leaving the parliament building, after politicians voted to lift the martial law declaration.
National Assembly speaker Woo Won Shik has declared the martial law "invalid" and said politicians will "protect democracy with the people".
South Korean opposition leader Lee Jae-myung said his party's politicians will remain in the building's main hall until President Yoon Suk Yeol formally lifts his order.
So in short I am right they still need the Pres to to call an end to martial law.

The vote removes the army's obligation to enforce. They can stand down if they want.

Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung's statement.

Lee, who was speaking after parliament voted to block the martial law declaration, said the president's move was "illegal and invalid".
He said President Yoon Suk Yeol is now required to convene the State Council and immediately revoke the martial law declaration.
"All orders issued by the president based on the martial law declaration are unconstitutional, invalid, and illegal," he said.
"To the police and the members of the armed forces: any orders from the president stemming from this illegal martial law declaration are clearly unlawful, as they violate the constitution and the law."
He warned anyone following the president's orders would be seen as an "accomplice".
"From this moment on, I urge all members of the armed forces and police to swiftly return to your rightful positions and faithfully carry out your original duties," he said.

Still needs the Pres to agree to it. Interesting to see what happens if he refuses.
