I hope things improve. It's not going to save Trump, but I hope there is a peace treaty. But if you think that North Korea is going to have free elections, you're nuts.

So far, what I see is that Kim gets nukes and suddenly the US drops the requirement for pre-conditions to a meeting (the North has wanted to meet for decades). It isn't Kim that blinked. It's Trump, now that Kim is armed.

There is no deal yet. Trump himself has said that if there isn't a good deal, he will walk. Let's wait and see what Trump has to give up.
