Junior A Hurling Championship 2024

I dont agree with the term "poaching" . I think young players vote with their feet more than ever before. If they feel the structures within a club are not good then they will look to a club with better structures . Or they will go and play another sport which they perceive to be better organised. Once they get to 15 they start to become aware of what a decent set up is. Well organised clubs can find themselves accused of poaching. We cant criticise clubs who are well organised. There can be an element of luck also in that 15 is usually the age (certainly in Dublin) where clubs begin to examine if they can put a "non Dad" into the backroom mix from their senior structure. This can also be very attractive to young fellas who see this as a chance to work in a more elite environment. Clubs need to plan to for this watershed time/age.

Exactly, it's just an excuse to mask clubs underage failings.

Thought Clyda were very good despite missing some key players, Killavullen were just that bit better balanced. They'll give our lads plenty of it. The sides have met 3 or 4 times already this year in both codes and 1 point has separated the teams in every game so there's nothing between them as well as a rivalry brewing.

Fair play Ballyhooly, thought Glanworth would be a lot more comfortable. Lombard is one of the best forwards in the division and I think he's worth a look for the Avondhu management. Wasn't at our game with Ballyhooly but he took the fight to us on his own from what I heard.
I think Glanworth are probably the oldest age profile team left and that'll stand to them. Bit of cuteness and experience as well as being a physical and good hurlers.
I think if Dromina had the two Buckleys available I'd fancy them, but they don't so I don't
Where are the Buckley's? Two semi finals should be decent games if weather holds up

Australia. Diarmuid went last year I believe and Brian has only gone recently. Bad timing if you were to ask me but those two gave full commitment when others weren't so they don't owe the club anything. I think they'd be the toughest opposition if they had them home. Murphy is going well but Chris Dunne is really motoring for them

Muskerry semi finals this weekend

Ballinora v Grenagh
Inniscarra v Ballincollig

Should be two tight games - Grenagh don’t seem to be going as good as last year but no doubt they will put it up to Ballinora. Could fancy their chances meeting them in the semi instead of the final.
Hard to call the second game. Ballincollig have a strong team this year but Inniscarra will be tough to beat.
Going for a Ballinora v Ballincollig final!

Very strange to go when they are in with a strong of winning the championship.

Diarmuid home for good in December, Brian is a NT and probably on a career break, Dromina also missing Naughton full back, suspended.
