Junior A Hurling Championship 2023

He was listed as a Doneraile player for the Cork Minors this year.

If Doneraile have fielded a minor team this year I'd wonder how he's been allowed transfer to Mallow?

Strange one.

I'm not having a go at the lad btw. The best of luck to him.
I can guarantee there is nothing strange about it. Transfer rules are extremely strict and only under particular conditions can a player move club.
You may have read the comments all week on the senior football forum from someone who obviously came out the wrong side of these transfer rules.

1: I wasn't asking you.

2: Relax a small bit.

Kilavullen then alongside Doneraile, ,SBM and Castletown are thriving underage and would nearly have enough for 2 teams at some ages. Principal in Kilavullen NS is a great GAA man so its not a coincidence they are close to winning a JAFC now

Could be wrong on this but I Think Ballygowen NS was traditionally a school where lads attending used play with Castletown but now majority are playing with Kilavullen. A Big blow to any small club to lose a feeder school

Any you'll see him at every Killavullen match, too. He's prob a bit too competitive at Sciath na Scoil level though :D

Top review of these games North Cork ☝️
I had expected Clyda to win that and even go all the way, especially after being knocked out of the senior football. When they’d the game effectively won, some of their younger inexperienced lads just lost the head and didn’t manage the game out. Unlike Clyda.
I heard the Glanworth game was a poor enough physical low scoring affair with Killavullen hurling in disarray as players and even their coach not turning up to championship games recently. Glanworth weren’t totally reliant on Condon which is a positive for them. I agree that LC should have too much for Goanworth.
What happened here? Were they missing key players? I expected them to make a much stronger challenge, there has been a lot of talk about them.

When I read this it didn’t sound right to me at all.. I rang my friend from that club who wears the jersey to bed I’d say and this is what I got back from him:
The Killavullen school principal has no involvement at all in the GAA club. My contact says he had never even met him. There are a couple of other fellas (“gaa lunatics”) driving the football there lately and exciting progress being made.
I was told that the principal in the other school in the parish is a big GAA man alright, hurling especially & coached teams up to about 5 years ago. He is involved with Ladies football only now apparently. I was told he is an excellent principal and kids come from all adjoining parishes to his school and even out from Mallow town. His school excel in music and many sports competitions.

Apologies, i mixed myself up. You are right

It is the Ballygowan principal that's heavily involved in the GAA. You'd never see a KVN Game adult or underage that he isn't at. Hence why majority are now playing gaa with KVN rather than Castletown

Oh yeah I forgot… my man said that’s not correct. It’s only players from Killavullen parish playing with Killavullen he says .. he said that they actually still lose the odd player from the parish to neighbor clubs like Clyda and Mallow. 🤷🏻‍♂️
