Junior A Hurling 2025

I cant see how this is a suprise. Mathunas have been holding their own at a much higher league level for the past number of years and were champions 2 years ago. Dont see this as a suprise at all.
Ya but sometimes that league can be false reading. Killavullen weren’t far off from going up to Division 5 this year and then they can’t win a group game.
Earlier in the year it looked like Barryroe were going to get relegated from Division 7. League and championship are miles apart

Very true, Barryroe beat ourselves in the Div 7 final this year and safe to say we’ve both had drastically different championships…

My reading of Kilbree over the past 20 odd years is that they tend to be a fantastic league side but in the bite of Championship they usually come out second. Maw Maws are a tough championship side even now when i would say they are much weaker than there teams in the 00s 10s they are still a tough bunch to crack.

Teams remaining:

Muskerry
Donoughmore, Dripsey, Grenagh, Inniscarra

Avondhu
Ballyhooly, Clyda, Charleville, Dromina

Duhallow
Newmarket, Dromtarriffe

Imokilly
Bride Rovers, Carrig na bhFear, Killeagh, Cobh

Seandun
St Vincents, Whitechurch, Passage, na Piarsaigh

Carbery
Ballinascarthy, Diarmuid O Mathunas, St Marys, Bandon

Carrigdhoun
Belgooly, Kinsale, Valley Rovers, Ballymartle

Still think Newmarket will do it, think they’re an impressive outfit and with no football left means they should be fully tuned in, you could worry about lack of competitive games before potentially meeting the Avondhu winners down the line, but Dromtarriffe will probably give them a decent test in the Duhallow final.

Does anyone know if there is any relegation in Avondhu this year? They currently have 11 teams and I think they decided to not do relegation this year after Araglin getting promoted to bring it up to 12 teams which evens it up to 3 groups of 4. Now with Milford being relegated back down to Junior A, means there will be 13 teams now down Junior A in Avondhu. If it was decided that there will be no relegation, they might have to stick with a 13 team championship next year and then relegation next year. Or is there a chance that relegation will still happen?

Atleast there'll be no dreaded group of 3 next year!
