That's definitely an issue with big groups. Perhaps they should look at a relegation final or something to make every game worth something. It’s better than the last format, only problem is that it could lead to a lot of dead rubbers if Ballinora/Grenagh win their first few games and the others throw in the towel.
Think if they had top 3 qualify and bottom 2 play relegation play semi finals that would help as it makes it more important where a team finishes in a group. Would be tough to juggle all the games thoughIt’s better than the last format, only problem is that it could lead to a lot of dead rubbers if Ballinora/Grenagh win their first few games and the others throw in the towel.
Scheduling is the issue alright but that would definitely be better, 12 teams in 3 groups would be ideal but don’t think the teams are there, this was a 9 team competition 2 years ago.Think if they had top 3 qualify and bottom 2 play relegation play semi finals that would help as it makes it more important where a team finishes in a group. No worries, for what it’s worth I agree regarding Blarney, crazy they couldn’t get out 15 footballers last year, will probably be too strong for Junior B this year now that they’re down.Ah....sorry
Inniscarra v Grenagh is arguably the most important fixture and it’s in round one. Whoever wins should qualify with Ballinora. God only knows what Inniscarra will be like thoughIt’s better than the last format, only problem is that it could lead to a lot of dead rubbers if Ballinora/Grenagh win their first few games and the others throw in the towel.
In round 1 the likes of Inniscarra, Ballincollig, Blarney are dangerous. They maybe won't have used up too many with first team so could be at their strongest. Plus those clubs have minors playing at premier level who won't be allowed play first team and be available at junior level.Inniscarra v Grenagh is arguably the most important fixture and it’s in round one.
