Junior A Hurling 2025

No idea how Ballinora will react after the football, there’s a serious shot at a county title still there so hard not to be focused on that but at the same time, there’s good enough hurlers to compete at both.

Probably enough differentiation and depth in the hurling and football squads that I’d be optimistic of competing on both fronts, but it is tough to balance for the most part.

This is a dream scenario for your club. Players will absolutely love it.

Any scenario in results, motivation shouldn't be hard to find for the next fixture.

I felt when I played that a run in both codes kept us fresh with the constant variety in sessions and games. Honestly don't see it being any issue for ye.

Here’s hoping, it’s been a long long time since I can recall us going so far in both at the same time so I’m not used to it at all.

Was 98 the last time ye won an adult county? Was there even hurling in the club at that time?
97 is the only county title ever won in football, won 3 mid Corks all in the 90’s before being promoted.

Won mid Cork doubles 96-97, but went up in football and that became the main game in the 2000’s as hurling went way back, were well beaten in the 2006 final by Cloughduv and struggled for a while after that, think we only scored about 3 points or something against Dripsey the year they went up, finally won in 2016 after a few good battles with Cloughduv, and been in the last 6 finals now but just can’t get over the line in the county.

Did win the intermediate hurling in 32, which naturally I don’t remember…

Moved to Minane Bridge now
Should be a good game. Saw Belgooly play against Kinsale, a very smart and well coached team. Have some strong forwards up front too who can do the business.

Saw Ballinora last year and was obviously very impressed by Kingston and Burns (Two All Ireland winners). I hear Daragh Holmes is back playing with them this year, how is he going after his time off ? Surely one of their strongest players still ?

You’ve got Burns mixed up with Byrne there, both playing well though.

Holmes is having a good year in both I think, good to see him back up to speed after a fairly bad injury a while back.

Think it’ll be a tough game alright, think there’s enough quality there but the weather will be a serious leveller by the looks of it, expecting a right battle.
