Tbf to Argideen that was their 10th 'dual' game in the last 12 weeks - James were after a far far better preparation, loads of football only in the last month and it showed, they were much slicker & on point from the word go, they have only played one of their JHC games so far, they won the game yesterday in the first 10 minutes.

Divisional Boards really need to get with the programme asap, no excuse not to anymore, with group stages and separate weekends for the Divisional teams, just start championships in line with Co Board and stay in step, not doing so is causing inequity all over the County, am I missing something why they can't?
In fairness to the Carbery Board they had their schedule games mapped out and it was all going well until the whole Barryroe fiasco. The Carbery Board arent the worst Divisional board by a long way...look at Carraigdhoun, 10 teams and they couldnt orgainse a piss up in a brewery, either they end up nominating or the final gets played very late...

On St James, delighted to see them put off promotion to PJ next year. That win was for all the hardwork put in by the likes of their long suffering secretary Liam Evans who kept the club going a few years back when they could have closed their gates and gone under.

A huge achievement for such a small club, even though I hail from a rival club delighted to see them achieve what they have in the past few years

Did the Barryroe episode cause that much of a delay, afaik it only held things up for one week? Either way my main point was that the fixtures schedule should be taken away Divisional Boards, use Co Board c'ship timetable and just let Divisions organise pitches and refs locally, no one can have any clomplaints then. At least everyone will be on a level playing field. Same prep, load, etc. We need to make every effort to keep things as fair as possible for the players giving the commitment.

James def deserve what they got, they have put in a massive 5 or 6 years at the football, heard that they have one or two excellent older under age players involved with Clonakilty too that will be coming back to them in time.

Most deluded shower Ive ever read about, we'll really see how good they are in the county and in the Premier Junior grade next year...they seem to love themselves up there, pity they cant back up all the hype

Wasn't a classic for sure, but I would agree with congratulating St. James on their 2nd West Cork JAFC win. It is a mighty feat of a small close knit club, who are nested in between 2 senior clubs who hover around their better players. I thought Frank Hayes had a great game for the saints. Timoleague are definitely benefitting from they underage amalgamation with Barryroe, with both clubs trending in the right direction football wise. They are a young team and experience won out on the day. St James seem to be tactically astute and might cause Kilmurray problems, but Kilmurray would have to be favorites. Someone mentioned Cullen the other day, I think they could be dark horses for the county.

One week delay shouldn't make that much of a mess of things.

Clubs having to two play 2 hurling games in 4/5 days a few months after their first game. That is not what the split season is meant to be about.

The Carbery board should be a ashamed of themselves.

Why can't they follow the county board template which has worked reasonably well for other divisions?

Well done St. James, a lot of admiration for them. Did their manager say yesterday, they were ranked 7th at the start of the year by the pundits?

A club like Kilmeen/Kilbree will have to play 2 group games in the space of 5 days. How is that fair on the players from said club when they would have been training all year?? Carbery board isn’t fit for purpose
Following the county board schedule is the only way yesterday’s losing finalists have already played 4 hurling championship games and are finished for the season where as the winners are only one game through their group stage.. alarmingly out of touch some boards are

This ☝️ - think the clubs in Carbery need to be heard at the end of the year, looks like the Board are letting them down very badly, it shouldn't be the case, what's causing all the problems down there?

It looks also that the board prioritised the senior football team over the clubs.

It's all well and fine Carbery going on a good run and well done to them but 95% of current players in Carbery don't give a damn. They should have a meaningful set of fixtures, not being pushed aside for 30 players or so.

Carbery board prioritized the football over the hurling as the original County deadline for the football was in early September compared to mid October for the County hurling...the Barryroe debacle shoved the football QF's back a week which effected the dual clubs...cant please everyone but I do think the board could maybe introduce more Friday evening games to help alleviate the pressure on dual clubs
