Avondhu Predictions;
LC Gaels v Mallow. Interesting fixture. Gaels have had hard groups in previous years and seem to be heading in the right direction. I heard they played Ballymartle in a hurling challenge the weekend gone, so that seems to be their priority. Mallow were well beaten by a strong Clyda side on opening weekend, but seem to have turned their season around. I would have thought Kilshannig would progress before them, but Mallow pulled it out of the bag. Kevin Taylor (ex soccer player) has done well for them. I think Gaels will have too much tho. Neither of these two sides will be contenders for the title.
Charleville v Clyda Rovers. Charleville will be down after the hurling weekend. Impossible to know who will make themselves available for them. Daniel O Flynn, one of their go to guys went off injured in the hurling. Charleville lost to Killavullen in the round robin, in their only hard game as they were always going to beat Ballyclough. I do not think Clyda will fear them. Clyda only used 20 players in a shocking Senior A campaign, having gone straight to the semi final last year with the same crop of players. I count six players on their junior squad who have started senior football over the last three years. They also have three very strong minors, that is nine high quality players for this grade at a minimum. They impressed in all three round robin games winning all, and scoring well, fitness will not be an issue for them. I am going to give them my vote in confidence. Either way, whoever wins this affair will have a say in the championship.
