Jesus lads, 'tis looking like BREXIT!

That latter graph is disingenuous.
People didn't care much about the EU, but when you did ask people about it, you generally got a negative response.
UKIP were properly threatening the Tories back in the early 2010s, but it was a fringe concern.

People got properly interested after the referendum was announced in late 2015. I think to blame it on Tax Avoidance Reform is massively simplistic.
No. The ERG/ Taxpayer alliance and all funded by dodgy money including Russian cash via Cambridge Analytica and the likes of Rees-Mogg and rich Brexiteers wanting to avoid new E.U. anti-tax avoidance measures with their "Sovereign Individual" idea as well as the endless "othering" of migrants in the U.K. newspaper industry to convince people to vote against their own best interests.

The U.K. 's big four accounting firms are delighted about plans to opt out of certain E.U. transparency rules about abusive tax arrangements.

Freeports = legalising criminality by taking taxable investment out of other regions into the hands of criminals.

Tory party leadershit hopefuls want a bonfire of E.U. regulations pushing Britain down the road of a tax haven.

Offshore tax havens and corporations will be grand while Brits will struggle to keep the lights on this winter.

Who cares?

It’s over/ they’re out. Let’s just wait another few years of their inevitable decline and then put the boot in.
They were convinced to make themselves poorer by placing economic sanctions upon themselves.

Unfortunately, their ongoing decline also affects us.

Errah, the Freeports things is nothing but bullshit political posturing:

There are around 80 free zones within the EU. Until 2012 there were five free ports within the UK, until the UK government allowed the domestic laws that set up those ports to expire.

And, of course, the biggest freeport in the world:

...while still being in the Single Market
