Jesus lads, 'tis looking like BREXIT!

So they haven’t stopped supplying Israel as was claimed, they are doing it in a different way?
The UK supplies spare parts for the F35 fighters.

Those go into a common pool of spare parts.

Israel gets parts from that pool of spare parts.

The problem is, what happens if the UK stops supplying parts to that common pool?
If the UK were to do that, they would lose access to the spare parts not manufactured in the UK, have issues with operational support and it really fucks up other countries's F35 supply chains, e.g. Polan.

They don't have the power to stop Israel from drawing from that pool of spare parts, the US does and they don't want to.

So what exactly do you do as the UK in that situation? Buy up the stock and ship the rear fuselage, ejection seats and targeting lasers that the UK manufactures directly to other countries like Poland, while their supply for spare parts for their existing 37 F35s is shut off?

That's an option, but it's not exactly a clever one, it'd make the UK's aircraft carriers entirely inoperable.

That is a fair explanation but then they shouldn’t claim they have stopped supplying Israel. They haven’t

They used to supply kit directly to Israel, they say they've suspended what they can, and the stuff remaining isn't directly exported by the UK to Israel (i.e. comes from the common pool, etc...) but details are obviously secret.

The narrative on the left that Labour are supporting Israel doesn't really stand up to rigorous scrutiny IMO. Yeah, there's a bit further they could go but it's apparently really hard without damaging the UK themselves, especially when the US controls NATO Command & Control, and could really fuck up the UK military if they wanted to. The UK withdrawing supplies wouldn't make much of a difference to the IDF either.

It doesn't help that the left of the Labour party want to pull the cord on that approach:

Incidentally, that other Twitter quote was a bit ridiculous. They took a flight from Dublin to Paris, but with a transfer in Heathrow, requiring a change between terminal 2 and 5, but they didn't do it as a proper transfer. Which is...nuts.

The growth predictions that have been labelled as "Project Fear" were 4-6% hit to GDP over 15 years.

The most recent research?

"These estimates suggest that by 2025, Brexit had reduced UK GDP by 6% to 8%, with the impact accumulating gradually over time. We estimate that investment was reduced by between 12% and 18%, employment by 3% to 4% and productivity by 3% to 4%. "

Project Fear was too optimistic.

Jesus fucking christ.

And, because I wanted to see the reality of it (don't trust everything you see on social media, kids!), I checked out the daily mail story:

"
Professor Alex Edmans, who competed a year below Ms Reeves, pointed to records of the 1993 British Championship showing that Emily Howard was the girl's champion, as the best-placed female in an open competition that included boys.

The chess website BritBase shows Ms Reeves finished 26th out of 34, 15 places lower.

In fact that year Ms Reeves won a separate, girls-only tournament, the British Women's Chess Association (BWCA) Girls Championship.

But Prof Edelman, an Oxford graduate and former banker who is now an academic at London Business School, said this win did not entitle her to call herself the 'British Girls U-14 champion'.

He told the Times: 'It is clearly defined as the girl who does best in the (mixed gender) British Championship.

'She may well have won titles, but the title of British girls' champion is a specific event.'"

A completely unserious country.
