Is English soccer and music now mediocre?

Having had to sit through the euro games, glastonbury and Jules Holland I can only come to the conclusion that both soccer and music from the Snowflake generation are like cotton wool wrapped little "blesses".

Euros have been poor enough, due to the under-performing 'better' teams and the minnows getting on further in the tournament.
Glastonbury is cack anyway, bunch of ponses and posers more concerned with their fashion rather than the music. Kinda ruins it.

In my view, music has gone downhill since around 1997, way too many shite acts/bands/artists with god-awful music that fades into obscurity too quickly. There's only a few modern artists I'd listen to. I'm more into 70's/80's/90's music anyway.
