Is An Post gone to the dogs?

I ordered a small package last week, didn't pay for tracking. It's coming from within Ireland, it was posted on Thursday afternoon, so probably Friday in effect, and it's still not here. I thought they were on a >95% next day delivery thing? I'm not that impatient, and I don't mind waiting for it, but if they say next day, it should be that. I partially organised my week to be at home on Monday to get it. If this was something bigger, I'd be pissed off.

An Post have taken over the deliveries from the old fastway. It's added a shitload to the deliveries they already have.

They are on a recruitment drive for delivery drivers as it is.

Can't get them fast enough I'd say.

There are huge issues down around the carrigaline area with ordinary snail mail, where if the postman/postwoman is off/on holiday/out sick, there's absolutely no cover there.

Some people complaining that they've gone 2 weeks without any post.

That's nuts

They've recognised that parcel delivery is key to their survival, and that's fair enough. It doesn't excuse such poor performance, however.

I opened a thread on this earlier in the week.
Someone posted me a valuable item 10 days ago from Clare. It still hasn’t arrived.
The sender thinks I’m pulling their leg.

Very poor service.
Sorry TB, didn't see it when I searched. It's really gone downhill.
