Friday arrived in Kent/Ceannt station -

Some rail service we have if a train can arrive in two places at the same time. Today I’m off to Heuston/MacDiarmada.

Friday arrived in Kent/Ceannt station -
no 6.40 to Dublin says this bollox with a gleam in his eye. Bus to Thurles soon,
late taking Off,
No train in Thurles,
over to the opposite platform says this Tipp cunt on the tannoy.
Over we all went,
into the shitty waiting room, Tannoy bollox then informs us - wrong platform,
sorry( ye Cork cunts) Over we go again.
Tannoy prick managed to make it even more interesting - " unfortunately train will be delayed again.
Back into the waiting room.?? Eventhuallllly ( as Manuel used say) Train arrived but the cunt didn't move for another 25 minutes,
My first train trip in 20 yrs,F that for a game of soldiers ? I'd 2 Tipp cunts opposite me,
whole way to Dublin" we're not going to make the train in Connolly, we're not going to make the train in Connolly etc etc?
Attempted a piss in the wibbly wobbly jacks,
Fuck me twas like an audition for a Duffy's circus trapeze act, One hand in the Mickey, Other trying to hold onto anything, And trying to body swerve around the puddles of piss on the floor, We've a fuckin long way to go

To be fair to them, I use the trains regularly and they are on time and without issue the vast majority of the time.. its my favourite way to travel, sit back, put on some decent tunes, and get to where your going without the hassle of driving

Handy if you happen to live along the line near a station where the train will stop. Not so good if you have to go a circuitous route and/or have interminable waits for connections

Handy if you happen to live along the line near a station where the train will stop. Not so good if you have to go a circuitous route and/or have interminable waits for connections

Such is life SoundY.. no one ever said the trains would serve everyone in the country equally!

Heres another consideration you may not have thought about.. the train also has to be going somewhere close to where you need to go, otherwise its probably not very handy either

Nope. It's that we can't do away with private transport (like driving) unless we have sufficient public transport (like rail) to replace it. And that is a hell of a long way away at the moment despite the preening of the Green Party
