These are people working and paying taxes, and in many cases a lot more tax than the average person.

It’s because the system is overwhelmed with bogus cases which has an adverse impact on the genuine immigrants who are here contributing to society and abiding by the laws.

I have a lot of empathy for these people caught up in the mess after doing everything by the book and having all necessary paperwork in order.

Asylum requests and permit applications are dealt with my separate functions. I’d wager that the DOJ is chronically underfunded to deal with residency renewals.

The loophole coming over the boarder in fairness is a challenge to manage but 16000 people walking off flights with no passport in Dublin airport?

Why is someone not in front of an oireachtas committee to explain this?

We deserve everything we get when we accept this type of wanton disregard for our own laws!
