And the major story from those involved in trying to quell the disturbances, residents, PSNI officers, community activists, politicians is trying to zero in on reducing tensions and see the people feel safer in their communities. Meanwhile someone who you want to pretend doesn't have an agenda is trying to spin it all into being about Sinn Fein and hypocrisy.

As I say, that kind of "journalism" is lapped up in certain quarters the same way Tommy Robinson's guff is lapped up by racists. It's a bit more subtle than Robinson I grant you, but still visible for those not in the echo chamber.

A jury has heard that Algerian migrant Riad Bouchaker was "upset" about a social welfare refusal letter when he attempted to murder three school children in Dublin. Counsel said the evidence will prove that when he attacked the children, he intended to kill them.

On this whole "requires a translator" stuff, I was recently speaking to a garda who told me they were in court and had a Roma defendant appearing in court on a charge - the defendant asked the garda would it be OK if they went outside for a quick smoke. Garda said she was in Cork that long that the Roma lady spoke perfect english with almost a Cork accent. But when it came to the case before the judge their legal team had insisted on a translator.

I can’t understand why any immigrant would want to live in certain parts of Belfast. A large number of the unionists up there are as racist as you’ll get. No different to the Afrikaners in South Africa.

It's rents, nationalist areas are badly stuck for housing, because people there aren't at risk of pogroms, the loyalist minorities are lashing out because their time is nearly over baically, and they can't keep control of "their areas"
