Sorry to hear about your mother.

The system is completely unfair, my partner had a very rare disease for a few years and was unable to work, she’s fine now thank god and is back working but they wouldn’t give her disability allowance as she was cohabiting with me and I was in employment, the lady from welfare advised her to move back in with her mum!

She’s been working paying PRSI/PAYE/USC for 25 years and then when she gets sick she’s thrown to the wolves.

That's infuriating. Like the system should be there to help people who are working and who need it only occasionally but as you say the more you work the less you are entitled to which is crazy.

Given the latest change in rhetoric from the government in relation to asylum seekers and off the back of that young girl being sexual assaulted by a man who shouldn't be in the country you'd wonder if the below deportations were hastened to show they are doing something.

They seem to be very quick to send people back to Georgia for some reason, Afghanistan, Syria, Africa etc not so much it would appear.

The state like headless chickens just keep putting unfortunate people that we don't know who some of them are into the arms of drugfueding gangs landlords! Every tom dick and Harry is setting up as these landlords coining it under a cloak of non reporting and planning bypassing
You would wonder if some of these places have working alarms. A lot of the hand wringers should be asking their TD why this major scandal is continuing and why we are recreating tenements in 2025

AGS have arrested 2 men in their 20s for the attack at the IPAS accommodation. They knew who it was the night it happened so will be sure they have the right guys. The CCTV footage is very detailed
