We have a population of about 5.3 million. The aim for the future is between 6.5 and 8 million.
Paddy the Irishman only wants 1.5 children and that continues to decline so we need to bring people in to pay for my old age pension like .

Boomers have done great in fairness. 1 working 9 to 5, no problem with housing , a better health service through most of their lives, no need to worry about healtcare , able to spend 4 or 5 nights in the boozer and still pay a mortgage no bother, this is fantasy world for their grandkids. A years wages in the 70s was the total cost of a house with change left over. Fairytale stuff for today's generation.

So if you were in a position of power how many do you think we should have taken in? None? Should we have put a specific limit on the number?

As against that, many of our bigger neighbours are backing them militarily and financial support, when we're hiding under the bed of neutrality.

Who decided the aim was for 6.5 to 8 million...and where's the plan to deal with that increase.
Housing, health and infrastructure seem to be without a plan and are failing rapidly. Don't remember much/any discussion on the aims you mention.
