Friend of my father in hospital recently looked after by a young Irish doctor. 27 of his newly qualified class of 30 in Oz, 2 planning on going, the doctor in question has family reasons to stay. If we looked after our own we would be swimming in Doctors and Nurses here.

What kind of a government pays a fortune to train up highly skilled talent like that and then hemorrhage's 90% for free? People defending this illegal immigration are by default defending this sort of incompetency.

Foreign healthcare professionals and anyone who comes here legitimately are of course welcome. They contribute loads to society, filling the gaps created by our incompetent government. I doubt those lovely professionals you met would want the flood gates open to thousands of illegals either, fueling all sorts of resentment and division.

Would they all come back if all the immigrants suddenly upped and left..some maybe but we have a history of doctors and nurses leaving our shores …in the late 80s doctors and nurses were leaving in their droves for the Middle East when the coin was right being dangled by Kuwait and Iraq..big issue is our health service is crap, it was crap 50 years ago and will be crap in 50 years time that’s the real crux of the healthcare shambles…
