No, I think that's a crazy move on the current mode of accommodating IP persons. Dropping them in with no structured plans of integration in place where we can find out about them, educate them and, the host communities and also, put in place treatment for people that are without doubt harbouring some form of mental trauma, is a recipe for disaster. The numbers should definitely reflect the numbers of the host community.You have no problem with the whole demographic of an Irish village being changed in one swoop with people of completely different traditions and culture.
Were they? They by and large did their own thing. Mixed among themselves. Opened their own shops. Avoided (our version of)the craic. Sent money home. Crammed loads of lads into gaffs. Abused our welfare system when able. Plenty of people were moaning about them back then, whether it was undercutting Irish builders or grunting loudly in the gyms.
