My nephew and his partner and child were renting privately, A year ago they were given notice by the landlord to quit, They moved into his
partners parents house, They have been offered a council house on the Cork side of Waterford, He works 3 shifts a week in east cork
so the commute is doable, Long way to have to move though, Sickening to see what others are getting

They were lucky, and it's even a stretch to call it that.

The country is being ruined in front of our eyes, and the people who should be fixing this are too busy shouting at each other in the Dail about shit which impacts absolutely nobody.

Like Trump and his tariffs in the US, our politicians ultimately don't care what happens to our people as long as their salary keeps rolling in.

I'll add as well - the girl I know who got the house in Glanmire was working three jobs at one stage. Sports Direct in Mahon Point, working evenings in the Gables, and then doing the bar for shows in the Everyman. And she waited 15 years for a house for her and her son.

Yer man even said he was from Jordan. Is there a war going on there? And wasn't Syria recently liberated?

Far easier for them to come here and live off my taxes I suppose. Because that's exactly what it is - the couple of grand I pay a month in taxes are being spent on these fuckers. No wonder people are angry.

I've no time for McGregor outside of going for the odd pint with him, but if someone universally respected in Ireland came out with the same things he said, I think they'd get a lot of support.

Could you imagine going somewhere like Nigeria, Syria, etc. You're a recently arrived white guy with no intention of working, and you get a free social house, after jumping over native Syrians or Nigerians who've been waiting 18 years.

You'd literally be dragged out to the street and lynched. And it would be fully backed up by local law enforcement.

And the reason they are at the top of the queue and getting good money is they are married with a large young family.
