A farmer from Co Galway has admitted to sexually assaulting a 16 year old girl on an Aer Lingus flight heading to Boston.
Patrick Noone (58) pleaded guilty at Ennis Circuit Court on Tuesday to two counts of sexual assault, which took place on November 15th 2023.
The incident led to the captain of the Aer Lingus flight being informed by cabin crew that a male passenger had allegedly touched a teenage girl inappropriately.
The plane, which was en route to Boston, was then turned around and returned to Shannon airport.
Mr Noone, from Curragh, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, Co Galway, admitted to sexually assaulting the girl by rubbing and grabbing her buttocks on board the E1 135 Aer Lingus flight within the jurisdiction of the Irish State.
He also pleaded guilty to kissing her arm and rubbing her thigh during the flight.
