Well if you get the endoscopy without sedation you can go home unaccompanied.
I havent done it yet and have had it done about 4 times but Ive been in the ward with people that have had. Id love to try it it because you can go home pretty soon after the procedure but my gag reflex is pretty bad.

Ive had the bowel one once.
The medication before hand. Holy shit! Literally. However the drugs they gave me for the actual procedure were great. I put on a Sir Henry's mix when I got home. I thought I was on Es.

The people in my room in hospital had it done and were back after 30 minures mad for a cuppa. The worst willbe fasting and that horrible prep

No horrible prep for endoscopy.
Just no eat or drink on the day of the endoscopy.
It's the absolute best of all the procedures.
You'll find it a doddle compared to the bowel one.

You might as well go with the sedation then.
The endoscopy is possible without sedation. Id say it similar to a deep throat blow job if youve ever done that.
I havent but some of the old chaps in the ward did it like a pro.
Point being is it's nothing to be worried about. I never thought Id be be getting a tube down my throat every five years but I take it (with local sedation)like a champ.

Im taking from your posts that this is your first bowel one?
The procedure itself is ok and they give you cool drugs but the prep is pretty grim.
They give you a mix to drink that makes you shit your ring out. Literally.
Endoscopy is like a Mediterranean holiday in comparison.
Seriously Billy m8, get it done.

Had both done,prep is pretty grim as you have to drink stuff at set intervals and fast, got sedated with fentanyl , dont remember a thing, they will remove any polyps too which is a good thing
Didn't feel high afterwards either
Got a disc with disgusting pictures of the pink insides of my bowl, why I dont kmow
