Theres a real lack of proper political investigative journalism in this country in recent years. You have journalism grads who are all too happy to go with press releases instead of digging further.

That's because these days the types who want to get into "journalism" do so for the wrong reasons. They're the ones who will write what anyone who can get them free tickets to Metallica or a "sponsored" lunch in the latest snazzy pizza restaurant wants.

Back in my day we had the likes of Tommy Gorman, Vincent Browne, and Veronica Guerin. They did it because they actually wanted to investigate and report on news.

Its strange as you have researchers keeping tabs on social media. I had a story go viral on Twitter a few years ago and honestly within hours I had researchers from RTE , Newstalk and 96fm onto me.

I couldn’t agree more. But that should not extend to questioning the legitimacy of her being here. In my opinion anyway.
