Anyone been to Nice, is it nice?

only for an overnight, you get a ferry from there to Corsica. which is one of the nicest place I've ever been too.

its a 30/40 min if i remember correctly Ferry goes into Bastia which is the capital and a bit of a shithole (economically Corsica is bit like Cape Clear or somewhere with added Foreign Legionnaires) but spin down to Napoleon's home place Bonifacio for magic beaches, superb mountains, hiking walking anything outdoorsy. The hill have a smell of wild Myrtle, Thyme and Lavander it'd fucking knock you but its magic..Never experienced it elsewhere

Yes, it is indeed Nice/nice but I haven't been in the middle of Summer. Would be extremely busy. Enjoyed a week there (10kms West of city itself) a couple of years ago.

Been there twice. 3 nights before going to a game in Perpignan. And again for a night a few years later.

Got a central enough apartment for ok money. Lot cheaper than hotels

Been a place I’ve long wanted to visit.

I’m fairly booked up this year with a few trips between now and the end of this year but I’d consider it maybe next spring.

How does it compare to the mainland cost wise?

We went twice. Once from Sardinia up and stayed south near Bonifacio, once from Nice and stayed North near Cap Course

That was 10/15 years ago. plenty of holiday let's becuase rich Frenchies have places there. The while coast is beach the whole inland is granite mountains.

Can't really comment on price but it was cheaper than Sardinia at the time and certainly less touristy

I know, it ain't much better where I am and we have no pool. We're mostly having to stay indoors for the middle hours of the day. Thing is, when we went to the French Atlantic coast a couple of years ago it was too cold for the wife (Mediterranean). It has to be just right!! I shoulda booked somewhere around La Rochelle or Lisbon but this place has a fine stand alone house with 4 bedrooms that would cost a mint in either of those places. Let's see. Early morning stroll or jog, most of the day in the pool, and dinner out somewhere when it starts to cool. Summer holidays, innit.
