Wow, that's so true, people will normalise conditions when they don't have another choice. I wore glasses since 8, when a teacher noticed I was short-sighted and later on because of the astigmatism, I could only get the expensive contact lenses if I wanted to go down that road. It was only a few years ago I developed cataracts in both eyes, at different times, I got the lenses in my eyes replaced, so that I no longer need glasses

I think mine were at least double that and tore them a couple of times when trying to put them back in the case while pissed
Oh I often woke up with curry on them in the case from chips!! Ididn't get the toric lenses so will still need reading glasses and I need a new sight test soon. I know it's fantastic to be able to see in the shower and when I wake. I can't wait to try swimming. I got toric lenses put in which was a bit more expensive, by Tom Flynn out in the same building as the Life pharmacy in Ballincollig (highly recommend him).
Sounds like you have higher astigmatism too. Yeah really chuffed to get 20/20 vision for the first time, although I have yet to put my head under water ! I think the toric lens was an extra €400 per lens but it has been well worth it.
Have you anything booked? Hard to do it on a budget in high season without booking well in advance.
