Hibernian Line ferry from Cork to Boulogne-sur-mer

Did you even watch the video? He would have done the same, if the original ship didn't break down after 3 hours and take 16 hours to return. He was supposed to stay in Boulogne-sur-Mer and come back a day later.

I did watch it yes.
Of course he never said why it took that long for the St Patrick to return to Ringaskiddy.
The CDLN vessel Victorine had arrived at the one and only RORO berth at Ringaskiddy since they had departed.
So obviously they had to wait for that ship to be unloaded and reloaded.
Of course the fact that there is only 1 RORO berth at Ringaskiddy is not Hibernia lines fault.

I felt he was annoyed by it all, which is only human.

I saw the Pont Aven today as it was about to depart and I must say it looks like travelling on that ship would be a grand experience, it's a pity we don't have a direct link from Ringaskiddy to Wales, that's a route I'd happily travel on.

The new motorway is coming along nicely too, a small section of it is open from Ringaskiddy towards Carrigaline direction and I look forward to it's completion.

Pont Aven is indeed a fine ship, but they all look lovely in summer time. Brittany will be finished up the Cork service as usual in October.

Unfortunately I can never see a Wales connection from Cork again, it has been tried and tested and always has failed.
New ferry links especially haemorrhage money when they start up.and don't usually break even 12 to 18 months in and they are the ones that survive.

That piece that opened was built by Sorensen and that is only a bypass of Ringaskiddy village for now.

Perhaps there's a cost/benefit point between Cork Pembroke or Swansea / Rosslare Pembroke Vs Cork Boulogne / Rosslare Cherbourg? Even more with Cork Boulogne being predominantly trucks.
