So nowadays young people say 'hey' in emails, chats etc.

They think 'Hi' is too formal

I'm old school, I think 'Hey!' is something you shout at shoplifters or pursesnatchers in the street, not a casual wokeplace greeting.

What sayeth the proc? Yay or nay to hey?

I start all my emails with "Howya!"

Or if I really respect the person I'm emailing, "How's she cuttin'?"

Depends on how formal the email is.

If I was sending an email to a co worker I would use Hey, but not to a client.

You’ve nailed it Roxy.. I dont sign off either, haven’t time for trivialities and they can see who sent it anyway from the email address
