Their starting lineup had 10/11 with the usual Armenian -yan suffix in their surnames. Not saying that means they can't be Russian, but I call bullshit without proof.

Two of tonight's starting team played a small few underage games for Russia, that's it. Even a couple of those born in Russia played zero meaningful senior football at Russian clubs. One guy plays for Krasnodar and another played about 50 times for Lokomotiv Moscow. It's not significant. The most we could say is the chap Spertsyan who's played all his life for Krasnodar would have a crack at playing for Russia. Big fucking whoop.

If I wanted to disrespect Armenia I’d draw attention to playing on a potato patch in the modern era is a disgrace but I digress.

They clearly have a load of players playing for them that were not born in Armenia which you’re probably now aware of but don’t want to draw attention to.

Ireland got disparaged for having loads of players who weren’t “Irish” playing for us. At least our lads didn’t show up overnight after England got banned from football.

What’s the point of international football if you can just bring in players like that? How can you respect that?

Might that give context to Ireland being beaten by a low ranked nation if they’ve essentially brought in a team in a few years?
Maybe they’re not anything like as bad as the ranking would suggest? They gave Hungary a good game yesterday by accounts.
