Have you had Covid?

I wonder how many people would fall for it again? Genuinely like.,
Well compliance was enforced the last time.. it would be again.. people got the €350 to toe the line.
If things were ever shut down again, then the states resources like the army and guards would be freed up from normal duty and easily deal with a few hundred marchers in Clonmel or wherever
Flatten the curve me arse..
A real lazy business man I know (inherited all of it) had his message minder on his phone changed to that phrase that every clown was saying something like “I hope you are ok in these tough times”
The night Claire Byrne was in the garden shed we wet ourselves watching the whole nonsense..
The things that annoyed me was the separation of families from dying loved ones, kids not going to school and meeting friends and the elderly isolated- I’ve a sister whose family are reared, she lives on her own and she hasn’t been back to her old wonderful personality since..

My parents-in-law, two very law-abiding and generally happy-go-lucky octogenarians, have said Covid were "the stolen years" and no matter what rules and regulations the Government happened upon in the future, they'd never cocoon again and would take their chances.

Cocooning was done with the best of intentions I believe. But it was wrong.
I'd imagine it was very difficult for those who didn't do essential work and didn't understand tech. If you were stuck at home and didn't get smartphones you'd have no new dance to learn every day.

Shoulda sent out a Nintendo Wii to everyone stuck at home so they could go bowling on the telly.

My in-laws who were at the sharp end of it certainly think so
At the end of 2020 and start of 2021 I visited my parents on the regular. They both live alone and it was better for my mental health and theirs just to have regular catchups and a chat.

I think the Government did well overall but we were too strict with lockdowns and they lasted too long. Having Garda checkpoints as a permanent fixture of the M8 was overkill. Big time.
