Skibbereen Rowing captain, Seánie O'Brien criticised the Hairy baby t-shirt company for selling €25 t-shirts on the back of Gary and Paul O'Donovan's silver medal victory in Rio.

He made the veiled comments on RTE Radio 1 in an interview with Katherine Thomas. The West Cork rowing club have produced their own t-shirts with the brothers' blessing to try to raise money for their club.

Fairly cringing out of Hairy Baby really.

Soon after they added the paragraph below to the page selling the t-shirts.

** We will be making a donation from the sale of each shirt. The unbelievable commitment of our Olympians is something we as a company want to support and we know from your reaction to this shirt that you want to as well. It's pretty obvious the lads need sponsorship and their sport isn't televised so this is a great way to help. We want to discuss it with the lads first and not commit to anything until we have their approval. So we're reaching out to them right now. We will make further announcements on our Facebook page.

It was a hell of a bandwagon jump alright by them, the couldn't get the tshirts printed fast enough, it was only afterwards they then were looking to be put in contact with the lads.

To see a T-shirt printer, of all things, to jump on a bandwagon, is simply shocking. It's difficult to know how to respond to it. And the company is from Cork, as well. The fuckers are probably employing Cork people. Shame.
