Gurriers

What is it all of a sudden with all these posh angry Dubs in shouty angsty bands?

All of a sudden? Gurriers are around about 5 years.

The answer is probably the meteoric rise of the likes IDLES/Fontaines DC/Soft Play/Amyl & The Sniffers though. There's no doubt that they have had an influence on a lash of post-punk groups.

For my money, Gurriers are more exciting and interesting than what any of those bands mentioned are doing currently.

Ireland is currently punching well above its weight in terms of the bands coming out and the music that is being produced.

I don't get any of the bands you mentioned. But I don't get the Spice Girls either, and most people don't like the shite I listen to either! I thought Whipping Boy did it better. Yep, that's me, an auld lad, saying that music was "better back in my day", which is untrue, as there is loads of good music being released now.

We're probably the same age! :lol!:

Horses for courses.

It's the Murder Capital I was thinking of. Shouty stompy stuff. I thought Girl Band / Gilla Band has some really decent stuff early days. I know they are still going, but they don't seem to have as much exposure as the others. As you say, a lot of Irish bands doing well overseas now.

I like The Murder Capital - I think that they might have missed their shot though.

The last album "Blindness" should have catapulted them to the next level but it kinda came and went without much fanfare.

I thought Whipping Boy did it better.

This just appeared unbidden on my YouTube feed. Whipping Boy only posted the video 4 days ago.

Girl Band changing the, name to Gilla Band was a bit much I thought. Bit too wokey pokey.
