Gurriers

Left after 45 mins. In the sphere of pre gig anticipation to actual gig enjoyment that's right up there with the biggest gap ever. Shite imo.

Was at the Coughlan's gig end of last year and they blew me away. Unreal. Tonight was down to sound for me. The tunes stand up but I've come away from plenty of gigs before where the vocals have been drowned out by the band. Tonight it was weirdly all vocals and the band was about at half volume. I'm sure it is a difficult balance to strike and I haven't a bulls how to pull it off .... but compared to other gigs over many years, that was a damp squib. I was expecting to be blown away once again. Twas boring, is my honest review and I'm sad to say it cos I think they're class.

Only spotted this now - I have been on a spiritual retreat since December 23rd i.e. not logging onto the PRoC in favour of bating myself foolish with food and drink.

That's a downer. I thought that they were pretty solid - not as good as the Coughlan's show in 2024 but that really was a lightning in a bottle gig.

I was positioned right by the sound desk and the band were loud enough for me - if anything, I thought that Dan Hoff's voice was blown out/weak from the 6 week European tour that they finished in Paris the night before the Cork show and the vocals were lost in the mix.

I wear Loop Experience earplugs all the time now and they tend to clean things up a bit but I do lose some of the mid-range.

Great energy from both the band and the crowd. As usual I managed to get stuck by two dickheads that wanted to have a chat rather than watch the band. They moved on after I tapped them on the shoulder enough times.

No Cork date on the tour just announced. Or Galway. Or Limerick.

Just Belfast, Dublin and Dublin again.

Every Irish band who gets to a certain level seems to develop amnesia about the towns around Ireland that and the punters therein that went to see them for their first few years.
