any of you soccer experts know of any irish involvement in the foundation of this club. Club crest is the shamrock and club colours are green and white similar to hibs and celtic.

Formed on the 25 September 1903, Spielvereinigung Furth chose GREEN and WHITE as their club colours and a SHAMROCK for their crest which is the reason why the club has the nickname of Die Kleeblatter (the Shamrocks). This particular shamrock is taken from the Furth town coat of arms.

They've absolutely no Irish connection as far as I know, this is one of those Bundesliga questions that often comes up and I've never come across an answer that showed proof of an Irish link.

They were lucky to come up last season, Kiel were sailing all season and then fell apart in the last month or so. Missed out on automatic promotion and then lost the playoff.
