I caught a bit of Hansard's funeral on YouTube - someone in work showed me the Bono bit.

What in the name of fuck was the man up to?! He was just fucking rambling, reading out lyrics from one of U2's misfire songs.

Followed by Bono calling out to The Edge who appeared almost unwittingly and unsure of what was expected of him near the altar doing his best impression of the John Travolta/Vincent Vega GIF.

I would imagine it was an impromptu gathering to honour a fellow musician, with no rehearsal or proper musical venue. It’s going to be a bit Ropey tbf. Even professionals need a favourable environment and set up.

To be fair I think mean spirited is a bit harsh. People are entitled to their view and their perceptions.
