Lounge - 20 odd years ago

I used go there in the 1980s. Moved to Málaga in 2002. Great spot back then. Comfortable place, good pints and decent females there.

We were part of the Cork city Celtic supporters club
Until politics split us
( most of us were at one time or another Provisional SF)
Those loyal to SF stayed
Rest of us left
At one time you’d have 30 /40 of us in there,
I loved it but I was housed after 4/5 pints
Cheap date
Craic was mighty,
No druggies allowed enter,
And no hassle at all when we drank there,
Lot passed on since,
And majority of us back chatting ages.

Flannery's is a grand bar,, but it's one of these spots that's well overdue a serious makeover.

It's a good bit dated now.

It never didn't have a smelly jacks tbf. I used to go in the odd time but I would have gone to Dennehys, the Outpost and mostly Highfield.

Now give me one that smells of smoke, has dust up to your elbows on the bar, a fire crackling in the corner, lads fighting over a game of cards or darts, arguments and punch ups, and the barman answering the phone to lie to your wife that you hadn't been in all day. Oh and the laughter, don't forget the laughter.
