Glasheen National School Traffic Chaos

Getting wet in the rain does not directly cause illness
, as sickness requires exposure to viruses or bacteria, not water. However, staying in cold, wet clothes lowers your body temperature and weakens your immune system, making you more vulnerable to infections if you are already exposed to viruses.

George Boole died in Cork on the 8th December 1864 following a short illness. On the 24th November 1864 Boole was caught in heavy rain on his way from his house in Ballintemple to lectures at Queens College, a distance of approximately 3 miles. Instead of changing his clothes, he continued teaching through the day, and subsequently caught pneumonia from which he did not recover.
Have you read his biography? Written by a maths lecturer in UCC.

It's an interesting read

His wife was a Homeopath and basically killed him by trying to treat his pneumonia by keeping his bedclothes wet for a week

There's this thing called an umbrella, it keeps you from getting wet on days like today.

Walking to school is less stressful than driving, even on this country of endless rain.

I just drove past the School Avenue turn off to Glasheen NS and the parents dropping their kids off are causing a massive traffic backlog stretching all the way back to Maxol and the Wilton Roundabout. Rather than driving directly to a parking spot, the parents appear to be stopping outside the school entrance to let little Johnny out, blocking the cars behind them to get past. There's absolutely no need for the tailback all the way to the Wilton Roundabout, and they're the cause of it. Crazy stuff, and clearly Glasheen school management don't give a crap.
That’s my buddy causing that
