GAA Stadium Facilities

All of these massive venues have horrible toilets. Whether it be Cusack Park, 3 Arena, the Aviva, piss covered floors and manky cubicles are ever present. How are you meant to keep them clean with those volumes of people all pissing and shitting in them?

It's just an unfortunate reality, unless you're going to have a team of cleaners in there whole time, which is unfeasible given the number of people.

I use the jacks in those place as a last resort.
But there is plenty you can do.

You know that people will be leaving pubs and walking down to the ground

Say for the pairc

You could use portable urinals along centre park road so that people aren't sneaking behind bushes and into gateways for a piss.

you could encourage people into the ground early by setting up a fan zone outside with seating and music and skills contests for kids.

I really remember when they were commemorating the tailtainn games they had 50m relays were provincial athletics and Gaa players races at half time with Derval O'Rourke and Ailish McSweeney ripping the gaa fellas to shreds.

I think the primary games are great at half time but what about getting say Joe Deane and Patrick Horgan to take frees against some dudes.

it doesn't have to be the superbowl it can be Irish and unique to the GAA but make it entertaining beyond, pub-> match-> pub

The point around this though is that the price of tickets has increased significantly in recent times and the facilities are no better than they were in the 80s. Nobody is arguing that Ennis shouldn’t get games but they should be made to bring their facilities up to modern standards.

They aren’t the only ones. Thurles and Killarney are bigger but not much better in terms of basic facilities.
The cost of running Intercounty teams has increased significantly as well. Would you rather cut back on team expenses and preparation or piss in a portaloo.

Honestly cut back on team preparation

Costs have gotten way out of hand.

Also if you get people to spend more time at the ground they spend more money there too.

Merchandise, food etc why lose out on all that to some chipper on the side of the road

It has. I don’t believe it’s an either or. The GAA has the money to spend on facilities upgrades and the Government has many grants available for those projects too.

Nobody is expecting perfection or hotel standard toilets. But an improvement is needed.

Portaloos aren't women's toilets.
They are, they are for everyone.
Also there are women only toilets in Cusack park, in the permanent shop block as you come in to the long terrace stand yoke and also in the rebuilt stand opposite it. So yes you were making up stories when you stated there are no women’s toilets.

The idea that women and children should just stay at home, rather than that the stadium should provide decent facilities is just silly.
Just the ones that complain about toilets

Sorry folks, no all lreland this year but look at the toilets we have!

I have been to matches all over the country and county and I’ve never come across people complaining about toilets.

Saying that my association with day trippers would be minimal as well

The GAA are happy with you buying a ticket and 99% are happy with watching a match and leaving.

They were closed when last I was there. They were closed the last time another poster was there. So no, there aren't.

Such a silly argument. We all know that you don't actually believe that, because that is not a thing that any rational person would believe.

They were opened last year when I was there, in fact my sister used it.
The time two years before that I saw the women’s toilets being used in the new stand.

When you said the were no women’s toilets in Cusack Park you were indeed as I said making up stories.

Obviously it is a silly argument to you as you are the one making up stories and complaining about facilities.
What this we nonsense, you don’t speak for any one here bar yourself and you definitely don’t speak for me. I would prefer you not claim what I believe or don’t. Just shows your arrogance.
