I hate that shit, come back to court for a date, then back on that date for sentence, just do it all today. Money for jam.
Same with the case last week that the woman was killed in the car accident, she pleaded guilty so sentence her there and then, nah come back again on another day.

In a contested trial you can't prepare for sentencing until or unless you are convicted.

Pre sentencing reports have to be done and they can't generally be done in advance. Probation report, for example, can't be prepared until after a conviction.
