For those familiar with landing at Heathrow from Cork.

Need some help folks.

I will be flying from Cork to Heathrow next week and landing at 8.40 am. Terminal 2.

I need to get to Stansted for a 12.40 pm flight.

The National Express leaves Terminal 2 at 9.15 am.

Assuming we land on time, Is it reasonable to think I should be able to catch that bus? The next one is 2 hrs later which is a non-runner.

Haven't been to Heathrow in years and can't remember if you go straight through passport control from Cork.

You've got a good chance, but it's a risk. 'Landing' at 8.40 means exactly that - touch-down. It may be another 5 mins until the plane gets to its stand, and then maybe the same again until they get the doors open - and then how quickly you get out depends on how close to the door you were sitting. But then it gets a bit easier. No passport control unless the security staff don't like the look of you. Bus station is 5-10 mins from terminal 2, depending on crowds, lift availability, luck, etc etc.

I'm thinking of just booking a taxi transfer to avoid the stress. Yes its expensive but at least I'll have peace of mind.
If I miss that bus then I'd have to either train into london and get the standsted express from liverpool station, or jump a black taxi at the airport.

Very tight.
Paddington Express to Paddington and then change to Elizabeth line to Liverpool St may be better bet.

I would book a taxi, it removes the doubt. You really have no wiggle room in your itinerary to manage any public transport delays...which happen quite frequently!!

Elizabeth Line to Liverpool Street is 45 mins. Stansted Express usually fairly reliable. Still tightish but probably doable.

I booked a transfer. 130 euros. Expensive yes but convenient and no stress.

Thought the national express would have better options.

If the flight lands on time, you could get line to Liverpool Street and Stansted express.
But that’s stressful and would take at least 2 hours.
Check in at Stansted can be chaotic sometime too.
Taxi is your best bet.
