Last gig I went to in Slane was G'n'R. Shite venue. Shite sound. But I am done with these mega gigs anyways. No way would I go to a stadium gig or an arena gig anymore. Just as well that the music I like is still played in smaller venues, or else they musicians I like are dead!

Had thought they might play Musgrave Park or Thomond, aswell as a big outdoor Dublin gig .....

Have they actually ever played Cork?

Anyway I'd be quick to hop on a flight and see them in the UK over Slane. Never going there again.

Fontaines played an absolute blinder at EP, i was at it, no real surprise with Slane, they will sell well

They were excellent.

Not sure I could manage the Slane trek. Might consider overseas gig instead.

I can't recall them ever playing in Cork.

They were slated to play the Marquee in summer 2020 but obviously...

I don't think that they played that many of the smaller rooms outside of Dublin on their way up either did they?

They did, they played them all, pubs and small venues like Roisin Dubh , Dolans etc and loads of pubs, they also played cork pubs Bru Bar and Crane Lane, but no Cork gigs in last 8 years or so,
album #5 being released soon and they are around 12 years +

Did they play the Crane Lane? That passed me by.

I was under the impression (wrongly, it seems) that they started off playing mid-level club venues like Whelan's and The Workman's Club without sweating it out in the backroom of pub.

Those gigs passed me by also, they just were not well known, played Crane Lane in 2017,which was before debut album, but oddly, never Cyprus Avenue

I’m not going to see them in Slane but clever options on tickets, packaging return busses with the ticket, if you want them, from Cork, Limerick and Dublin.
