UCC are not an extension of Cork County Board. Some people seem to miss that.

Exactly. They can only take the players that decide to study at the University. If they want to win a Fitz/Sigerson they will play the best 15 available to them. If people think there aren't enough Cork players on a given panel then maybe we should be looking at how we develop our players compared to other counties. They haven't an obligation to play guys from Cork.

Spot on. Fairly sure these scholarships/bursaries are only awarded in November? Long after the student has started college.
 
Sorry DCU. He does have a scholarship but it shouldn’t be up to limerick or Dublin colleges offer to scholarship it should be the cork colleges trying to keep Cork Players in Cork. From my recent memory I don’t remember any cork hurler recently having to go University outside of Cork
DCU offer the most attractive sports scholarships and they focus on Athletics and Gaelic football, and they tend to get the cream in both those fields
