Now I'm out of college, looking for a job and sharing a place with people I can't just let my health up to the faith of the gods. I've been doing a lot of running, probably pushing myself too hard, and I keep getting little twinges in my body.

It's hard to know what you're supposed to do with it, and doctors are busy and cost a bomb. Lately I have a pain in my calf. I don't think it's anything serious but I just need to figure out the best way to keep body and mind healthy while resting it.

Are you stretching after running? Reduce the distance and build gradually, Take the advice from a man who has broken every rule in the book.

Full Rest isn't generally prescribed any more. Lay off Running. go cycling or swimming or walking. Whatever you can do without pain

Test your claves, do Heel raises off a step. 2s up 2 seconds down try to hit a the same spot on the wall. Test Left and Right. You should hit about 20-30 with too much difficulty. if you're not hitting that or there is a difference of >5 between sides work on it. Sets of 10-15 throughout the day. This hits the lower down gastroc part of the calf

Do the same with a bent knee (step out from a wall bend knee to about 60 degrees) and do heel raises. You'll probably manage fewer here. Just look for a left right imbalance. This hits the part of the calf higher up the soleus. Again work on them with the others.

Go see a physio.

I had a ride.

April 2021.

Preparaing for Ironman Bolton.

Bus driver whacked me off the road in Sheerness.

It was to St Michael's we went but there was no MRI scanner.

London Royal it was..... Took a while to get there.

Brain bleed and I had no identification on me.

The nurses played 'Guess who'.

Fuckud up my Cerabellum

End of that.

Stretching is the key. There are some great online tutorials.

I find cold water swimming brilliant for my mental health but also for feeling good in my body. My husband does it after running, and finds that good for his muscles.
