I smell BS with this. Every year the first fwe babies are born a few seconds past midnight. THere are 63000 births per annum in Ireland. Thats one birth every seven minutes. So how come thay always come within a few seconds.
Does the mother stop pushing until 11.55?
Or is it fake.
Any medical experts here to explain

The buddys wife tells a story of how he was pleading with her in the delivery room to hang on for 10 minutes more so the child could be born after midnight so she shared the same birthday as him.....she did.

In fairness though the op did the maths, you have to give him that. I suppose if you carefully time the ride you could hit the jackpot and have the first baby of the new year
